Employers and recruiters electronically search your resume for specific terms (keywords) to find candidates with the skills, qualifications, and credentials for their particular hiring needs. This does not mean that you can afford to forget everything else about resume writing and just bundle the right keywords to get into the spotlight. Keyword scan is just the first step in their everlasting search for the right employee.

In the next step your resume will be read by a person, so try to incorporate keywords naturally into the text within the appropriate sections. Try to avoid separate “keywords summary” on your resume.

If you are changing careers include keywords that reflect your current career goals, not you past experiences.
